Design Phase
Survey
Once you are happy to proceed, I will come back and do a more detailed survey of the garden – dimensions, levels, aspect, soil pH and anything else that may affect the design
process. If it's a very large garden or with a lot of changes in gradient, it may be necessary to employ the services of a surveyor.
Concept plans/mood boards etc
Sometimes before drawing up a design, it can be helpful for me to prepare a mood board, or Pinterest/Houzz boards with photos and sketches to help clarify what materials/styles you like/dislike. At this stage I will also show samples of hardlandscaping materials.
Presentation plans and construction drawings
The presentation plan is a to scale drawing of the proposed garden, usually with elevation drawings to help visualise it. I will also produce detailed construction drawings for
landscapers, as required.

Planting plans
As well as adhering to an overall theme, plants will be selected based on their suitability for the garden (aspect, soil type and soil pH). The planting plan will show size and numbers of plants required.

Once the plans are almost ready, I will arrange a meeting to go through them with you and make any minor changes before finalising them.
